On this week’s show I interview fashion designer Stephen Arthur who developed his creativity at a very young age and has been designing clothes and accessories for women since that time. His designs have already captured the hearts of women across the globe since showcasing his creations at Sweden Fashion Week in 2011 and then winning a national TV Competition in October 2012.

Despite Stephen’s ordinary upbringing, he is no ordinary designer. Aged just 22, he has already secured a deal with John Lewis Partnership to have his ‘Perfect Party Dress’ sold in their stores across England and online. Starting out on an art illustration course in college, Stephen’s journey took a different direction when he decided to study computing which led to a ICT position at two local primary schools.

Stephen has always had a clear and focused design philosophy about being unique, futuristic, sophisticated, clean and simplistic about his creative ideas. These principles all apply to his design aesthetics. Artistic talent is crucial in design and Stephen has an exceptional sense of line, colour, form, balance and proportion, and a sharp eye for detail. As creative designer Stephen’s skills, knowledge, and abilities include the ability to formalise original, unusual and clever ideas about women’s fashion to create impressive, sought after and award winning garments.

Travelling internationally Stephen is currently working on his next collection to be showcased at London and Sweden Fashion Week 2013 whilst honing his skills at St Martin’s College of Art and Design.
