You may or may not be aware of ‘O’, the monthly magazine, founded by Oprah Winfrey, which has now been in publication across the United States for more than 12 years.

The magazine stands for all things Oprah and is filled with humorous features, relationship advice, and life lessons from the woman herself.

For many years Oprah has organised an annual event, which is run in conjunction with O Magazine and gives women all over the world the chance to come together and spend an entire day thinking about themselves. The event is called O You! and it really is a day to remember.

Who am I?

It’s probably time I introduced myself.

I’m Natalie Brown, a TV presenter from England, currently hosting my own show, Time With Natalie.

Time With Natalie is an online entertainment show endeavouring to help women maximise their time and create a life which balances work, rest and play.

My passion for television and the media industry has continued to grow and in addition to TV presenting, I have enjoyed small screen parts on BBC’s Dr Who, Casualty, Hustle, Doctors and ITV’s Lewis.

My passion also extends to music and I am a regular presenter for Sky TV’s UK Christian Music Charts.

I’m a huge fan of Oprah Winfrey and in addition to having recently interviewed her partner, Stedman Graham on my show, I have attended the O You! event for the last two years.

I can’t tell you how much I love the event.

Well actually, I can try.

It’s truly amazing!

A real highlight in my calendar.

It gives me the annual boost I need to refocus on my goals, let go of my fears and take action in all areas of my life.

Not only do I get to enjoy a trip to the US and attend an event led by Oprah Winfrey and her long-time friend, Gayle King, I also get to spend a day focussing on myself, my passions, my dreams and my goals.

O You! 2012 – Los Angeles – California

After huge successes in New York and Atlanta, this year’s show is being held in sunny California on Saturday October 20th.

The one day event will take place in the Los Angeles Convention Centre and as well as having both Oprah and Gayle in attendance, there will also be a series of fantastic sessions run by, Suze Orman, Martha Beck, Peter Walsh and more.

The sessions will really help to bring into focus many areas of your life and encourage you to start asking yourself the really important questions:

• Who are you and who do you want to be?
• Are you fully focussed on your passions, dreams and goals?
• What’s holding you back? Can you identify the obstacles to your success?
• Are you spending every day living the best life you can live?

The Plan

Having attended this event myself twice, I really want to start sharing the amazing experience with others and begin building a UK based group who attend on an annual basis.

I’m keen to make it clear that there’s no marketing ploy involved. This isn’t a scheme intended to make profit on my part. Nor am I in any way affiliated to marketing campaigns based around the event.

Tickets for O You! 2012 go on sale on July 10th and my initial aim is to simply gauge a level of interest from people. I can then order a block of tickets based on our numbers and organise the rest of the details from there.

Whilst I hope to bring together as much of our group as possible and organise discounted travel, hotels and a set time period for the trip, I am more than happy for others to join the group but make their own travel arrangements.

The O You! day will pretty much take care of itself, but my plan is to arrange other activities for us all when we’re out in LA.

On July 10th the O You! website will provide details of partner discounts, which will help to determine other activities we can do together. At the moment I have the following suggestions:

• Hiking to the Hollywood Sign
• Santa Monica Shopping
• Venice Beach Visit
• Eat on Sunset Boulevard
• Visit to Chinese Theatre

I really am open to suggestions on what we do as a group and I’m equally happy for people to get on with their own thing.

• I aim to have a firm list of attendees before tickets go on sale on July 10th.

• Together we will work out dates, flights and hotels. An official group trip will be organised but people are equally welcome to make their own arrangements.

• It would be great if we had the opportunity to all get together before we travel and my plan is to organise an optional UK meet-up either in late September or early October.
